We inspire through science
During years 1 and 2, your child will be learning about the importance of asking questions regarding the world around them, carrying out simple experiments and using their observations to suggest answers to these questions.
These fundamental skills lay the foundation for later study of the scientific method as well as equipping them with the skills to explore the world around them and understand the objects, plants and animals they might encounter day to day.
Our tutors can teach all elements of the National Curriculum for key stage 1 comprising years 1 and 2 (ages 5-7):
Identify common plants and trees and describe their basic structure.
Identify and describe the structure of common animals such as fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals. Describe the basic parts of the human body.
Identify and describe the physical properties of everyday materials, including wood, plastic, glass, metal, water, and rock.
Observing changes in weather and day length across the 4 seasons.
Tutoring in science doesn’t just nurture an education in the natural world, but also improves core skills in reading, writing, discussion, maths and critical thinking.
Unlike in a group class, one-to-one tutoring allows children to have the space to build their confidence and self-belief at their own pace. Our specialised tutors have the extensive tutoring experience necessary to make sure your 5, 6 and 7 year olds are reaching these important milestones in their formative years in a fun and engaging way.
