We inspire through language
From years 3 to 6, children spend every day at school practising core skills in reading, writing and speaking. At the beginning of year 3, most children are reading around 300 of the most frequent words but by the end of year 6, most are confident, free readers.
Throughout KS2, writing skills also develop from short words and sentences to longer pieces that include characters and dialogue, more accurate spelling and more varied punctuation and vocabulary. However, with school closures and interrupted learning, children may be missing the important milestones that are necessary for their transition from primary to secondary school. If you are concerned that your child is falling behind in reading and writing, our highly-qualified tutors can help!

Featured Tutor: Lucy
Hi, I’m Lucy and I have 30 years of teaching experience in primary schools, most recently with year 6 classes, preparing them for SATs and the transition to secondary schools. I love the arts, especially theatre and music and am passionate about helping children find reading a pleasure rather than a chore.
What have our parents been saying?
“Lucy is tutoring both of our kids and doing a great job adjusting to a 7 year old and 11 year old in two different subjects. She is easy going and personable with both kids and has found ways to relate to them and make them comfortable with her quickly. The curriculum and activities seems spot on and both kids are enjoying their sessions. She also has very insightful feedback for us as parents! Super pleased!”
