Science tutoring for children aged 7-11

We inspire through science

Durings years 3-6, your child will be given a range of scientific experiences to enable them to raise their own questions about the world around them and then carry out experiments to find out the answers. From years 3 to 4, children will learn how to gather and record data and report on their findings.

From years 5 to 6, children will develop these skills further, learning how to draw conclusions from their results and how this data can be used to predict how the world operates. These fundamental skills lay the foundation for later study of the scientific method as well as equipping them with the skills to explore the world around them and understand that things are not always as they may seem.

Our tutors can teach all elements of the National Curriculum for key stage 2 comprising years 3 - 6 (ages 7-11):

Year 3 (ages 7-8)

(inc.  Humans)

At WMA, we aim to match specialist teachers with children we think will benefit from their specific teaching style. We don’t believe that qualifications are enough to be a great teacher. Some tutors have more experience teaching older children and some are more experienced and more suited to teaching younger children.

Through our rigorous training and interview scoring process, we discover which teachers are most suitable for each child. There should certainly not be a “one size fits all” approach to teaching and online tutoring!

Meet SAN

San is in her fourth year studying Medicine at Oxford University, and is a fun and engaging tutor that makes science exciting and simple for children from ages 7 to 11.

She specialises in the Key Stage 2 school curriculum and has also supported many children from all over the world in their 11+ admissions tests. Tutoring in science doesn’t just nurture an education in the natural world, but also improves core skills in reading, writing, discussion, maths and critical thinking.

Unlike in a group class, one-to-one tutoring allows children to have the space to build their confidence and self-belief at their own pace. Our specialised tutors have the extensive tutoring experience necessary to make sure your 7 to 11 year olds are reaching these important milestones in their formative years in a fun and engaging way.
